Welcome to stock0 ("we", "our", or "us"). stock0 is a mobile application designed to help users track stock information and discover nearby grocery deals.
We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") of South Africa.
With your permission, we may collect precise GPS location data to provide location-based features, such as showing nearby grocery promotions and store deals.
We use third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob to display ads. We only serve non-personalized ads.

We do not use your personal data, behavioral data, or tracking across apps and websites to personalize ads.

If you choose to use the AI deal assistant and explicitly allow data sharing, we collect the text you type into the chat. Your message may contain personal information if you include it, so we ask you not to enter sensitive personal information.
The app sends your message securely to stock0's servers. We then share the message text with Groq, our third-party AI provider, to generate a response. When a web search is needed to answer your request, we may also share the message text with Tavily, our third-party web search provider. We do not send your stock0 name, email address, or password to Groq or Tavily as part of the AI request.
stock0 does not record, collect, or store audio from your device.
stock0 does not use tracking for advertising purposes.
As a result, we do not track your activity across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising.
You may still see ads, but they are not personalized.
We may share limited data with third-party service providers to operate the app, including:
These providers process data only for the purposes described above. We require service providers that receive user data to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard as described in this policy and as required by applicable law. Their own privacy policies also apply to their processing.
Your data is hosted on secure servers provided by DigitalOcean (London, UK region).
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the service or comply with legal obligations.
AI responses may be cached for up to 24 hours to improve speed and reduce duplicate processing. Our providers may retain request data according to their service terms and privacy policies. You can withdraw future AI data-sharing permission at any time in the app's Settings. Withdrawal stops new messages from being shared but does not retroactively delete data already processed. You may contact us to request deletion of personal data held by stock0.
You can delete your account directly within the app at any time.
Once your account is deleted, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal or regulatory purposes.
